How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
“Ambitious, concise and light-hearted.”
Why did you join Taledo?
I joined Taledo because I liked the business model and idea behind it. The platform and product that we offer is great and really has the power to change the recruitment industry. Plus, I wanted to gain experience in an international company working in recruitment, so it turned out to be the perfect place for me.
What were you doing before you came to Taledo?
Before I came to Taledo, I was in Poland finishing my Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. I left my student organization, where I spent three years as President of the local section of the ERASMUS Student Network. I was managing 4 people on the Board, and 60 in total in the local section. We were responsible for incoming ERASMUS students - helping to integrate them into Polish culture, assisting with accommodations and anything else they might need. We were also promoting intercultural exchange and study abroad. I really liked the time I spent there, and particularly my participation in an international project, called “Eduk8”. First you’re an Eduk8or, then a Facilitator, and finally, a Trainer. I am now in the second stage as a Facilitator. I deliver 4 day trainings to students from different countries utilizing non-formal education principles helping them to develop leadership skills.
Why Recruiting/Human Resources?
I like to be in touch with people and I like to organize. My spirit thrives on organizational tasks. I also like to build things and see the results, which is exactly what recruiting and HR can provide me.
What does the typical day in the shoes of a Talent Manager look like?
It’s very dynamic and everyday is different than the one before. I talk to many candidates, see what they want to do in their career, and figure out the best options for them. Through my daily work, I learn about perspectives in the labor market and the various companies and positions within it. I like it because it is a sector that is far from being monotonous. The more I learn, the more I develop myself professionally and my outlook personally.
What do you appreciate about Taledo?
Nowadays when everything is dynamic and people want the best job opportunities with the least amount of effort, Taledo comes in handy because we do the job for the candidates. No longer do they have to prepare their CV in a million different versions and send it out to a million different companies. We have made the application process more efficient and applying to jobs much easier. Candidates create one profile, and their Talent Manager takes care of the rest.
What is your biggest quirk in the workplace?
“I am clumsy. I have a tendency to inadvertently break things or hurt myself.”
Where do you see yourself in five years?
For sure in the Human Resources field. The ideal position in which I see myself is HR Business Partner. I see myself supporting businesses in HR related decisions, building company culture and employer branding, and being responsible for employee satisfaction and happiness. Ideally I would also still have some touchpoints with recruiting and delivering trainings.
Tell us about the HR work you're doing here.
At Taledo, I have taken initiative to implement trainings, create an onboarding, and give structure to other important processes that can be challenging to solidify in the startup atmosphere. These are the small steps that can lead me to the changes I want to see in my career path. I also really value these opportunities at Taledo. I don’t think I would be able to use my potential, to develop my ideas and pursue them, in many other companies - whether at a startup or not.
