Java, SQL and JavaScript are the most wanted

“Are you a Java master? Then Munich is the perfect place for you to be. There are more than 1400 open Java positions at the moment. In contrast to Berlin, developers will find more positions with large corporations and medium-sized businesses in Munich rather than startups. Additionally, if you feel most comfortable in your business clothes or suit and like to be surrounded by high-society, then you will fit in perfectly.

Moreover, Berlin shows the highest rate of Ruby developer jobs. This can be explained perfectly with the city’s notorious and intense startup scene. Young and innovative enterprises particularly like to work with this programming language and therefore, it is no surprise that there are a lot of open positions in that field. Berlin is also the perfect place for you if you prefer a multicultural city with a pulsating night-life and community.

Nationwide, the number one language is Java with about 11.000 open positions, followed by SQL – 8.000 positions – and JavaScript – about 6.500 positions. After experiencing a rise over the past years, Python now ranks 5th within the most demanded programming languages in Germany.
