Turnover describes the rate at which employees leave a company. Irrespective of how this happened - by resigning or by getting fired.
The Turnover rate is calculated by:
(Personnel that left/ average amount of personnel)*100
Common reasons for turnover are:
- Career choice and development
- Work environment
- Work life balance
- Family and other living circumstances
- Poaching by competitors
- Wage or lack of opportunities
- Problems with management or coworkers
To keep turnover rates low, it is advised to consider patterns that might lead to these results and assess how these can be improved/changed within the organisation, if possible.
